Moving On

about

My velvets pastiche...
I love VU, so I thought I'd make a song in their style but talk about quitting drugs...
I totally get it - this song pales in comparsion to everything the almighty VU created but this is my tribute to the band and a reminder that Lou Reed himself managed to quit hard drugs and alcohol and lived clean for decades.
It's worth remembering and using as an encouragement - if you struggle with addiction, getting clean and living sober is possible!
If Lou could do it, so can you! Good luck

lyrics

i woke up in the morning
wishing i was dead
shivers rattle my body
and a hammer hit my head

i think ive finally had it
i think i hit the wall
so ive made a big decision
today im moving on

im moving on
im moving on
leave all this shit behind me
thats whats going on

the blood in my sink
the blood in my bed
no more needles in my mainline
it's time to move ahead

i dont want to hear from you
dont want to see your face
youre a distant past now
and im in a brand new place
